Receiving National Monument Ranking Certificate

On April 15, 1945, in compliance with the Resolution of the Tonkin Revolutionary Military Conference and the Instruction of President Ho Chi Minh, the Resistance Army School – the predecessor of the Army Officer School 1 today was established. Over the previous 77 years, the school has trained 89 courses, 85 of which have graduated with over 110,000 officers and officers for the army, as well as thousands of military professionals for countries in Asia, Africa, and Latin America, particularly our friend – Laos…Generations of school administrators have grown up, dedicated, and sacrificed for the cause of national building and defense. More than 400 comrades rose through the ranks to become generals and senior cadres with major positions in the Party, State, and Army. 37 comrades were named “Hero of the People’s Armed Forces” and “Hero of Labor”; many comrades went on to become great scientists, associate professors, teachers, and athletes who set national and worldwide records in military sports.

On August 29, 1985, Army Officer School 1 was honored by the Party and State with the title Hero of the People’s Armed Forces and three Ho Chi Minh Medals for excellent achievements in cadre training, scientific research, construction, combat, and expansion…. The Ministry of Defense granted the school the Emulation Flag in 2021 for successfully and totally completing all parts of work, leading the army’s emulation effort.

After its establishment, the school has received special attention from the Party Central Committee and President Ho Chi Minh. During his lifetime, he visited 9 times and sent letters of encouragement and praise many times. On May 26, 1946, President Ho Chi Minh visited and attended the opening ceremony of the 1st class of Tran Quoc Tuan military academy (the name of the school in the period 1946-1948). At the ceremony, he directly handed the school a flag embroidered with 6 golden words ” Loyalty to Vietnam, respect to Vietnamese “. Since then, these 6 golden letters have become the essence and glorious tradition of the 1st Army Officer School, the Vietnam People’s Army and the honorary oath of each soldier to the Fatherland.

With great affection, gratitude and historical value of the event Uncle Ho handed the flag to the school, in 2007, the place where President Ho Chi Minh handed the flag “Loyalty to Vietnam, respect to Vietnamese” was ranked monument by People’s Committee of Ha Tay Province (former Hanoi). On January 29, 2019, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism issued a decision to rank national monuments.

Receiving the National Monument Ranking Certificate is an honor, pride, great source of encouragement and encouragement for cadres, lecturers, students, staff and soldiers of the school to continue promoting the tradition, trying to get many achievements in study, training and work, contributing efforts and wisdom to build the revolutionary, regular, elite, step-by-step modernized Vietnamese People’s Army, firmly defending the Fatherland Socialist Vietnam.
