The special art program “Epic of Hanoi” is a meaningful gratitude to our predecessor for making glorious victories for the capital and the country on the 76th anniversary of the establishment of the Vietnamese People’s Army (December 22, 1944 – December 22, 2020), the 74th anniversary of the National Resistance Day (December 19, 1946 – December 19, 2020) and the 48th anniversary of Dien Bien Phu victory in the air (December 1972 – December 2020).
Attending the program were: Mr. Vuong Dinh Hue, the Member of the Politburo, the Secretary of the City Party Committee, the Head of the Hanoi National Assembly delegation; Mr. Chu Xuan Dung, the Vice Chairman of Hanoi City People’s Committee; Mr. Pham Thanh Hoc, the Vice Chairman of Standing Committee of Hanoi City Party Committee’s Propaganda and Education Department; and 200 cadres and soldiers of the Capital’s High Command.
“Epic of Hanoi” is a “long anthem” about the heroic and resilient Hanoi capital in the long and arduous resistance war, contributing to the nation’s historic victories. The program reminds viewers of the proud history of the country.
Only a short time after President Ho Chi Minh read the Declaration of Independence at historic Ba Dinh Square on September 2, 1945, Hanoi capital faced many difficulties like “hanging by a thread”. After President Ho Chi Minh called for the Nationwide Resistance, on December 19, 1946, Hanoi started a long and arduous 9-year resistance war that ended with the capital liberation event on October 10, 1954.
Following the guideline of President Ho Chi Minh, Hanoi people not only joined the whole country in the resistance against the US, but also defeated the US Air Force, creating the famous “Dien Bien Phu in the air” victory.
The tough but heroic and indomitable time of Hanoi people were shown in the immortal epic songs and the special art repertoire that are meticulously prepared, namely: “Thousand years of Thang Long”, “Hanoi people”, “Feeling in October”, “Going to the Capital”, “Truong Son Stick”, “Truong Son Dong, Truong Son Tay”,” Hanoi with sleepless nights”, “Remembering Hanoi”, “Love for Hanoi”. TV clips and stage excerpts: “Historical moment”, “Hanoi fights and sacrifices for the independence and freedom of the Fatherland” were performed among the songs
Performing in the program are the singers: My Linh, Tung Duong, Dong Hung, Ta Minh Tam, Dinh Manh Ninh, Hong Duyen and a lot of artists and actors from Hanoi Drama Theater.
