Soldiers and militia forces of Long Bien district are ready for the pandemic prevention and control work.
As soon as Hanoi city decided to use Vietnam Railway College (in Long Bien district) as a centralized quarantine facility, the Military Command of Long Bien District actively advised the District Party Committee and the District People’s Committee to immediately formulate the plan for protecting and operating the centralized quarantine facility to ensure compliance with the direction of the city from May 23, 2021. The Management, Administration and Service Board consists of 9 officers and employees from the Military Command of the District and 15 militiamen. All members are on duty 24/7 at the facility, ensuring the efficient implementation of Covid-19 pandemic prevention and control under the guidance of the medical force.
As of August 24, 2021, the facility has received 540 quarantining citizens. At the moment, the facility has 124 people (including 60 male citizens and 64 female citizens) who are undergoing medical quarantine under the guidance of the Ministry of Health. With the dedication, responsibility, and thoughtfulness, officers and soldiers of the District armed forces involved in the management, administration and service in the quarantine facility have gained much affection from citizens there that is expressed through letters of thanks, messages from Zalo or comments on Facebook sent by people to Hanoi Capital Command, District People’s Committee, and District Military Command.
Given the complicated developments of the Covid-19 pandemic and to proactively respond to unexpected situations, the District Military Command actively advised the District Party Committee and the District People’s Committee, and directly surveyed, proposed, and implemented conditions on pandemic prevention and control. Accordingly, Long Bien district established 3 centralized quarantine clusters with a capacity of 1,540 citizens. The District Military Command mobilized more than 300 officers, soldiers, and militiamen to clean up and prepare other facilities to receive citizens who have to undergo quarantine.
In addition, to help people during the pandemic time, and at the same time, to respond to the special emulation movement “The military and the whole country join hands to prevent, control, and win the Covid-19 pandemic”, the Military Command of Long Bien District has coordinated with the District Fatherland Front Committee, Ngoc Thuy ward, and Sai Dong ward in erecting 02 booths for giving free things. Each booth has 200 gift bags, worth VND 450,000 each, including essential items such as rice, meat, cooking oil, fish sauce, instant noodles, vegetables, fruits, etc. The gifts have partly helped residents, freelance workers, and students to overcome the difficult pandemic time. This activity with profound humanistic significance has demonstrated the spirit of mutual love and affection and the solidarity between the military force and the people, promoting the good tradition and quality of “Uncle Ho’s soldiers”, “Good qualities of the capital’s soldiers” who join hands with the Capital and the whole country in preventing, controlling, and repelling the Covid-19 pandemic.

Senior Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Danh Quyet, the Politician of the Military Command of Long Bien District affirmed that the main task of the military is to maintain and uphold the training works so that it is always ready to fight for and defend the country in any circumstances. Given the complicated developments of the Covid-19 pandemic, it is determined that pandemic prevention and control work is one of the missions of the military in peacetime. Each officer and soldier is considered an effective propagandist who is always on high alert and responsible for promptly orienting public opinion. Soldiers and militia forces of Long Bien district always determine that in any situation, they will always take the lead and join hands with the whole country to prevent and win the Covid-19 pandemic, bringing normal and peaceful life to people.
