For the Capital art lovers, “Thang Long Song and Dance Theater” is so familiar. Every year, on the occasion of the great anniversaries and public holidays, the Capital audience awaits the art shows of the Theater. In 2018, the Theater held 10 performances to serve political tasks and 13 programs for foreign affairs. The programs had been successful and praised by the leaders and the Capital audience. Besides, following the good morality of “Loving other as much as yourself” and “The good leaves protect the worn-out leaves“, The Theater has also performed 2 charity shows to raise money to help children in the mountainous region.

Proud of its operation of nearly 60 years (The Theater was established in 1960), for 2 past years, the Theater has made great efforts to find out more programs to suit the audience’s tastes and ensure both attractive and entertaining factors. In late 2017, the Theater boldly organized Hanoi – Past and Present program – the theater’s first ticketing program. With Hanoi theme, the concert collected the most typical works of Thang Long Song and Dance Theater, which won high prizes in domestic and international professional shows. These are the famous songs performed by guest singer My Linh (On the peak of Phu Van Mountain and Hanoi in a windy night); the duo between singer My Linh and singer Meritorious Artist Tan Minh (Hope his return); Meditation dance, Teu solo performance and Hóa vàng (singer Thanh Thanh Hien) … Many audiences have rated it as “a party table with many delicious dishes”. For those who work in Thang Long Song and Dance Theater, theỉ joys and hopes are full because the audiences come to the theater and enjoy it until the end of the program.
Hanoi – Past and Present program – the first ticketing program of Thang Long Song and Dance Theater
Following the success of Hanoi – Past and Present program, in 2018, Thang Long Song and Dance Theater had more good news from “Hanoi, Date … Month … Year … – Blooming Youth” program. The program was arranged in “broadway” drama with many performances connected by clear stories in emotions and ideas. The program had 80% of new songs composed and marked in 2018 Professional Song and Dance Festival, such as: “Hanoi epic song”, “My Life”, “Letters written hastily” , “Hanoi, day … month … year” and “My dream” … Besides artists of Thang Long Song and Dance Theater such as Meritorious Artist Tan Minh, Meritorious Artist Khanh Hoa, singer Lo Thuy, Hien Anh, Khanh Linh, Dong Hung and Bao Tram Idol, the program has participation of Singer Hong Nhung. Although there is no dialogue, the arrangement of songs exudes a “very Hanoi” spirit. Through the love story of a young couple throughout the work, Hanoi, Date … Month … Year … – Blooming Youth has sketched elegant old Hanoi, Hanoi ruined by war, strong Hanoi stood up and youthful, thriving Hanoi of today.

2018 Professional Song and Dance Festival, Hanoi, Date … Month … Year … – Blooming Youth program made a deep impression on viewers and the board of examiners. The program won Gold medal of the whole program, the Best Musician Prize, Excellent Director Prize, 3 Gold medals and 3 Silver medals. It was a recognition for the investment and enthusiasm of an ekip, also showed a good signal from the program innovation and met the audience’s increasing demand of artistic cultures.
Closing the year 2018 with successes, Thang Long Song and Dance Theater is showing its determination to have more high quality art programs, which are loved and welcomed by the Capital audiences .
