Artist Ha Binh Minh of Thang Long Water Puppet Theatre is one of the two artists awarded the First Prize in the National Puppetry Talent Competition 2022, which took place in Hanoi from August 20 to 26, 2023.

The competition, held at the Vietnam National Puppetry Theatre, featured 20 artists and performers from five puppetry art units nationwide.

At the closing ceremony, the Organizing Committee presented seven awards, including 2 First Prizes, 5 Second Prizes, and Certificates of Merit for outstanding performances. Notably, the two First Prizes were awarded to actor Ngo Doan Thinh from the Vietnam National Puppetry Theatre and artist Ha Binh Minh from Thang Long Water Puppet Theatre.

Thang Long Water Puppet Theatre had three artists participating in the National Puppetry Talent Competition 2022, and their performances were highly praised by colleagues and beloved by the audience. As a result, the theatre won 1 First Prize, 1 Second Prize, and 1 Certificate of Merit.

In particular, artist Ha Binh Minh secured the First Prize for his role as Macbeth in the excerpt “Dreadful Apparitions” from the play “Macbeth.”

Meritorious artist Tran Quy Quoc won the Second Prize for his role as the Village Head in the excerpt “Village Head, Mrs. Dop” from the traditional “Quan Am Thi Kinh” Cheo play.

Meritorious artist Le Thu Huyen received a Certificate of Merit for her portrayal of Thi Mau in the excerpt “Thi Mau Goes to the Pagoda” from the traditional Quan Am Thi Kinh” Cheo play.
