With a methodical approach, attracting the positive response by associations at all levels and officials and members, supporting women to build a happy civilized family in Thuong Tin district has achieved many encouraging results, contributing positively to the construction of the local cultural life.
For the past 5 years, the Women’s Union of Thuong Tin district has implemented the emulation movement “The capital’s women actively study, work creatively, build a civilized and happy family” in association with the implementation of the Directive. 05-CT/TW of the Politburo, the campaign “Building a family of 5 no 3 clean”, the movement “All people unite to build a cultural life”. Propaganda and mobilization of women have been carried out synchronously from district to grassroots in order to raise awareness and sense of responsibility of officials and members in many forms: Association activities, broadcasting system, cultural and artistic activities, seminars, praising good examples, training, etc.

One of the breakthroughs in the past 5 years of Thuong Tin Women’s Union is mobilizing women, promoting their internal resources to participate in economic development, creating jobs to increase incomes and reduce poverty sustainably. The District Women’s Union has focused resources and creativity in directing implementation such as Coordinate with functional sectors to organize 102 training sessions on transferring science and technology in animal husbandry and agricultural production for 8,327 membership turn; good management of entrusted loans from the Bank for Social Policies is 178,236 million dong for 6,842 households, outstanding loan from the Agricultural Bank is 81,024 million dong for 917 households.
The savings fund at the Association attracted 95,284 (83.6%) turns of members to mobilize nearly VND 15 billion, helping 1,794 poor and disadvantaged members to borrow loans for economic development. Associations at all levels cooperated to open 78 vocational training classes, improving skills for 2,890 employees, helping 4,341 workers (including 4,166 female employees, accounting for 96%) to have jobs and stable and improve their incomes and standard of living. Thanks to practical measures, in the past 5 years, the Association has helped 799 poor and near-poor member households escape from poverty. Activities to support women to start a business, support women entrepreneurs are increasingly diverse, practical and effective. The Association has helped 63 women start their own businesses; maintaining the operation of the district women’s business club and directing and supporting the establishment of 01 Tan An Cooperative in Tan Minh commune, contributing to the effective implementation of Project 939 “Supporting women in the capital to start a business in the period of 2018 – 2025”.
District leaders and district Women’s Union visited and gave gifts to Vietnamese heroic mothers, demonstrating the nation’s principle of “Drink water, remember the source”.

In addition to building an economic life, the implementation of a civilized lifestyle in marriage and mourning is also concerned by associations at all levels. Currently, 161 of 161 union branches in the area have built and maintained the model of “Civilized Women’s Union in marriage and mourning”. In the past 5 years, it has propagated and mobilized 4,032 weddings to implement the new lifestyle well and 3,580 funerals to implement advanced civilization.
The District Women’s Union has stepped up activities to implement Joint Resolution No. 01 between the Central Vietnam Women’s Union and the Ministry of Public Security on “Management of children’s education not to violate the law and social evils” in the area. With the maintenance and promotion of the effectiveness of the club models, women officers in the district have registered to manage and help 76 addicts, 68 addicts after detoxification and 46 malnourished youths who are slow to progress through the following forms: Motivating, visiting and helping 23 families of addicts and 10 families of addicts after detoxification to borrow VND 752 million from the entrusted capital of 2 banks to create jobs and settle down.
Environmental protection has been widely deployed by the Association at all levels, with many effective and practical activities such as: Launching the movement “Anti-plastic waste” and awarding glass water bottles to replace disposable plastic products to officials, members and students; creating green – clean – beautiful – blooming environment at 45 Cultural Houses of villages, residential clusters; the model “Going to the market with plastic lanes” and “Trash bins with lids at home” contribute to ensuring food hygiene and safety, limiting the use of plastic bags, and protecting the environment; model “Clean field” at 28 establishments has agricultural production activities to collect waste and pesticide packaging, etc.
By the end of 2020, the whole district will have 92% of the families of cadres and women members achieving “Family of 5’s no and 3’s clean” and “Civilized and happy family”. The material and spiritual life of women cadres and members in the area has been constantly improved, contributing to building Thuong Tin district more and more civilized and beautiful.
