During his life of revolutionary activities, President Ho Chi Minh greatly attached importance to the role and position of young people in the revolutionary cause and paid special attention to training, fostering and promoting the young generation. In the Sacred Testament, President Ho Chi Minh emphasized: The Party should take care of educating them on revolutionary morality, training them to be the heirs to build socialism both “young” and “specialized”. Always engraved with Uncle Ho’s teachings, the young generation of the Capital has constantly devoted their youth, intelligence, talent, contributing to the successful implementation of the socio-economic-cultural tasks of the city and the country.
In 2019, to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the implementation of President Ho Chi Minh’s Testament, the Standing Committee of Hanoi Youth Union launched the Journey “The Capital’s Youth remember the Uncle Ho’s Testament”. Accordingly, the Hanoi Youth Union directed the Youth Union at all levels to organize a series of extensive political activities in the youth of the capital with many meaningful activities; The Youth Union levels throughout the city emulated the implementation, with many “Youth works following Uncle Ho’s words”; deployed many itineraries “Following Uncle Ho’s footsteps” to learn about historical places, revolutionary relics associated with Uncle Ho’s life, organize volunteer activities for community life.
Outstanding in the Hanoi Youth Journey to remember the Testament to follow Uncle Ho is the advanced Youth Congress following Uncle Ho’s words with the participation of 352 advanced youth examples following Uncle Ho’s words in 2019 – typical examples in studying and following Ho Chi Minh’s ideology, morality and style. They are the Secretary of the Union, the cadres, civil servants, soldiers of the armed forces, artists, and typical young intellectuals. As the Head of the Group, Hanoi Youth Union has hosted activities to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the implementation of President Ho Chi Minh’s Testament, 20 years of the “Youth Volunteer” Movement and the Secretariat Spending Festival. Expression to follow the words of Uncle Red River Delta cluster and military units took place in Hanoi city. These are meaningful activities for the youth union members, especially the representative team of the Union Secretariat, to clearly understand the theoretical and practical values of President Ho Chi Minh’s thoughts and teachings on the development and strongly developed the Youth Union organization, participating in building units, localities, building homeland and country.
City Youth Union currently has 113 affiliated union facilities, including 30 units of the district, district, town, 59 universities, academies, colleges, 24 blocks of staff members, armed forces with more than 700,000 members across the City. The activities, movements of learning and following Uncle Ho deployed synchronously in all levels of the Youth Union have created deep emulation and achieved many positive results.
In order to commend and multiply youth collectives, models and works in implementing learning and following Ho Chi Minh’s ideology, morality and style, the Hanoi Youth Union Standing Committee commended 10 typical models and works in the good implementation of Directive 05 CT/TW of the Politburo, including: “Flowers drawn on the electric cabinets “ (Youth Union of Hanoi Electricity Corporation); “Green Traffic” (Banking Academy); “Friendly toilet” (Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union of Cau Giay district); “Youth union grading system” (HCM Youth Union of National Economics University); “Festival for young creation of industrial sectors in Hanoi” (Youth Union of Hanoi Industry Division); “1 million notebooks supporting students in difficult circumstances” (City Teammate Council), “A drop of gratitude” (Hanoi Youth Campaign for Blood Donation); Journey “Young healers follow Uncle Ho – Volunteer for public health” (Hanoi Young Physician Association); Journey “Volunteer Fire – For the people to serve” (Hanoi City Public Security Youth Union). Models and works of youth have brought into full play, creating a positive change from awareness to action, with a clear change in the sense of ethics training, lifestyle, and service attitude of youth officials and union members; contribute to building a civilized urban lifestyle, building a new, bright, green, clean and beautiful countryside.
The Capital’s Youth today has been continuing the traditions of his father’s class, worthy of the thousands of years of civilization, heroism, peace and friendship of Thang Long – Hanoi.
