Among many measures to prevent and control the Covid-19 pandemic being drastically implemented by the authorities and people of Hanoi Capital, the “green zone” model has been established, which means many alleys, hamlets, residential areas are being safely protected from the very complicated spread of the current Covid-19 pandemic.
According to information from Thanh Tri district, up to now, the district has directed 29 communes and towns to build a model of self-governing population groups and teams, with the core being community Covid-19 groups and teams to establish and protect “green zones”, as safe zones to promote the synergy of the entire political system and the entire population in the prevention and control of the Covid-19 pandemic, and at the same time reduce the load on regular forces, frontline forces in disease control. The promotion of the self-governing role of the people to protect “green zones” in pandemic prevention and control is a demonstration of solidarity and community strength, with the participation of the people themselves, working together to strive to prevent the spread of the pandemic outbreaks in the community. Up to now, the whole district has 194 “green zones” set up in villages, hamlets, residential groups and residential clusters, typically: Nghiem Xuyen commune (39 zones), Thang Loi (13 zones), Thu Phu (10 zones), Natural (6 zones), Hong Van (6 zones), etc.

In green zones, each citizen, each family strictly observes pandemic prevention and control measures according to Directive 16/CT-TTg by the Prime Minister, raises awareness and responsibility to protect themselves and their families, protect the community; strictly implement the 5K message, only go out when absolutely necessary; install Bluezone, NCOVI applications on smartphones to contribute to tracking F1, F2, F3 when new cases arise; voluntarily make a medical declaration if they have been to a pandemic area or have been in contact with cases, if they have abnormal symptoms, they should immediately go to the nearest medical facility, examine and take samples for testing in accordance with regulations; actively participate in propaganda and supervision activities, promptly detect and inform the authorities and functional agencies of people traveling from and coming from pandemic areas, related to cases and outbreaks to take measures; actively participate in the establishment and operation of self-governing areas, green zone protection posts, and proactively prevent pandemic even when the pandemic has not yet occurred.
The establishment of “green zones” with the number of zones and participants shall be decided by the leadership of the village, residential quarters, and self-managed population groups and teams to discuss and agree on a decision to carry out the control and monitoring of people’s access. All people entering and leaving are checked for travel documents and medical declarations. People without a valid reason are absolutely not allowed inside.
In order to support the green zone protection points, in Thuong Tin district, associations, unions and some people showed solidarity, donated masks, antiseptic water, milk and other necessary necessities for the main force.

Mr. Kieu Xuan Huy – Chairman of Thuong Tin District People’s Committee said that the movement control points in communes and towns show the proactive prevention of the people themselves in the face of complicated developments of the Covid-19 pandemic, at the same time, also shows the solidarity and strength of the community, because the people themselves participate in the duty, and join hands to strive to prevent pandemic in the community. In the fight against the Covid-19 pandemic, which is still going on very complicatedly, the whole political system and the whole people are focusing highly on the battle with the spirit of “fighting the pandemic like fighting the enemy”, “every citizen is one soldier, each family is a fortress”, the participation of each citizen is the bridge to promote the strength of the great unity of the whole people in the joint fight against and efforts to repel the Covid-19 pandemic.
