Hanoi excels in Diving at the 9th National Sports Festival

Accordingly, the Hanoi athletes showed their superiority when they won 7 gold medals, 7 silver medals and 2 bronze medals, ranking First in the whole team. The Second was Quang Ninh with 3 gold medals, 1 silver medal, 2 bronze medals; the Third was Hai Phong with 3 gold medals, 3 silver medals; the Fourth was Nam Dinh with 3 silver medals, 2 bronze medals; the Fifth was Ho Chi Minh City with 2 silver medals and 4 bronze medals.
Diving only has 40 athletes from 5 participating units and one more National Sports Festival next, Hanoi Diving athletes have the absolute advantage in achievements, thereby winning the most number of gold medals and taking the first place.


On the last day of the competition in Quang Ninh, Hanoi’s athletes won another gold medal in the 3m soft board women’s singles with the excellent performance of Ngo Phuong Mai. This national female player achieved 270.95 points, thereby winning the gold medal. Behind Phuong Mai is her teammate Huong Giang and young face Le Bao Thi (Nam Dinh) with bronze medals.

In the hard board men’s singles content, Nguyen Tung Duong (Hai Phong) won the gold medal with 279.9 points. Athletes Dang Hoang Tu (Hanoi) and Tran Pham Hoang Long (Ho Chi Minh City) ranked second and third, respectively.

In the hard board men’s and women’s doubles, the pair Nguyen Phuong Anh/Phuong The Anh of Quang Ninh won the gold medal.

Notably, in this sport, Ho Chi Minh City’s diving athletes did not win any gold medals and the best achievement was only 2 silver medals.
