Many exciting activities in the program “Spring reunion” in Hanoi

Vietnam National Villages for Ethnic Culture and Tourism organizes a series of activities “Spring reunion”. “Spring reunion” is the theme of activities in January at the Vietnam National Villages For Ethnic Culture And Tourism (Dong Mo, Son Tay, Hanoi), introducing the atmosphere of welcoming new year with rituals, festivals, habits and customs, and traditional activities..

Vietnam National Villages for Ethnic Culture and Tourism organizes a series of activities “Spring reunion”.

“Spring reunion” is the theme of activities in January at the Vietnam National Villages For Ethnic Culture And Tourism (Dong Mo, Son Tay, Hanoi), introducing the atmosphere of welcoming new year with rituals, festivals, habits and customs, and traditional activities to welcome Lunar New Year. On the occasion of the new year 2019, these activities contribute to the introduce and promotion of traditional cultural values, strengthening exchanges, solidarity and support for development between ethnic. Activities take place with the participation of nearly 100 people of 14 ethnic groups like Mong (Ha Giang),  Kho Mu (Dien Bien),  Thai (Son La), the Tay (Thai Nguyen), Muong (Hoa Binh), Dao  (Hanoi), Ta Oi and Co Tu (Hue), Xo Dang (Kon Tum), Raglai (Ninh Thuan), Ede (Dak Lak), Ba Na (Gia Lai), Khmer (Soc Trang), Nung (Lang Son) (starting to participate from January 10,  2019). Vietnamese National Theater of Classical Drama; Vietnam Traditional Operetta Theater also take part in the event.

Especially, at the beginning of 2019, the “Common house” welcomed an ethnic community to the village, Nung ethnic group in Lang Son province. People hold a star-offering ceremony and rituals to the new house in order to officially receive the Nung house at the Vietnam National Villages for Ethnic Culture and Tourism and repel bad luck and expect peace and happiness.  In addition, the communities in the “Common House”, especially the northern mountains ethnic groups, sing and play folk games in the opening days of a New Year.
The January program “Spring reunion” take place with highlight activities such as the star-offering ceremony of the Nung in Lang Son province, introduce of the etiquette of “Lau Then” and Spring songs, Vietnamese National Theater of Classical Drama’s  performance of “going to the festival in spring” and Vietnam Traditional Operetta Theater’s performance “Spring reunion”.
Besides, the group of craftsmen working daily at the Village will give local people and visitors opportunities to experience culinary culture and enjoy special dishes like sticky rice, chicken with bamboo shoots, steamed osmeriformes, steamed vegetables, grilled fish, pork dishes and colored sticky rice … Visitors also can take part in other activities such as tea picking, fabric weaving, musical instrument making, handicrafts knitting, wine cooking and herbal medicine processing… In addition, there are cultural performances and typical traditional folk art forms such as spreading dance, stall dancing, folk-song singing, gongs performance, Then singing, bell dance, turtle dance, Ay ray singing and performance of five instruments, Ro bam drama and Rom vong dance. Many folk games are held in the event such as Con throwing, walking on stilts, Mang beating, raiding, swinging, walking to bridge … Moc Chau white mustard flower in Thai village, scenery at ethnic villages and the color of peach and plum in the North West will add to the spring scenery.

In addition, the Vietnamese Ethnic Culture and Tourism Village also displays photos with the theme “Traditional Festival at the Common House”. They introduce about 40 photos of festival activities which are arranged in groups, regions to help visitors see the activities as well as cultural colors recreated by communities have in the Village, especially the festivals to welcome the Lunar New Year of the peoples.
Apart from the activities of 54 Vietnamese ethnic communities at the “Common house”, daily and weekend activities and travel programs … are organized to introduce culture, habits and customs of the 14 ethnic minorities. These events are to strengthen exchanges between ethnic groups and attract tourists to Vietnam National Villages For Ethnic Culture And Tourism.
