“Spirit of mutual affection” is a precious tradition of the Vietnamese people. To promote that tradition, over the years, the Red Cross Society of Thuong Tin district has implemented many practical activities, contributing to timely sharing, and encouraging poor and disadvantaged households.
Humanitarian blood donation activities attract many volunteers to join in
Giving to beneficiaries of social welfare on the 75th anniversary of Invalids and Martyrs’ Day by District Red Cross Society
In the first 6 months of 2022, the Thuong Tin District Red Cross Association and several units have effectively implemented many activities such as voluntary blood donation, propaganda and mobilization of citizens, donors actively participate in different support campaigns and programs. On the 2022 Lunar New Year, the District Red Cross Association and related units mobilized nearly 4,000 gifts (equivalent to more than 1 billion 400 million VND). “Humanitarian Month” in 2022 has received the active support from agencies, organizations, units, and people in the area. The whole district has mobilized and given 160 gifts to poor households and difficulties low-income households (equivalent to 32 million VND); awarded regular support to 17 poor students (equivalent to 61,2 million VND); granted support capital to 8 poor people (equivalent to 40 million VND); support to build 1 House of affection (equivalent to 40 million VND); awarded 3 wheelchairs (equivalent to 6 million VND) to disabled people.
In addition, the district authority has supported the humanitarian work of the Hanoi Red Cross Society with an amount of 23 million VND; Coordinate with the Red Cross family, Ms. Ngoc Mai visited and gave gifts to poor and disadvantaged households in Hai Lang district, Quang Tri province and Van Ho district, Son La province, giving 644 gifts (equivalent to 178 million VND). Total value of social work in the first 6 months of 2022 reached VND 1,773,600,000.
Other humanitarian work is maintained regularly and effectively. In the first 6 months of the year, the district authority organized 7 voluntary blood donation sessions, collecting 1,684/1,650 blood units, reaching 102% of the year plan.
The practical activities of the District Red Cross Association have made practical contributions to the local social security. Preserve and promote the significant tradition of the nation “Mutual solidarity”, helping poor households as well as timely support, motivate and encourage different poor individuals and families. The activities attract the participation and support of many organizations and individuals, demonstrating the community’s cooperation and contribution in taking care of the disadvantaged people and help them have a better life.
In the coming time, all levels of the Thuong Tin District Red Cross shall continue to make more efforts in humanitarian work, actively advise and coordinate with relevant departments to have appropriate support method as well as organize humanitarian and charity activities, so that the District Red Cross can support people with difficult circumstances.
